Carolyn Parker Harrison

Mrs. Harrison was born in Grissettown in Brunswick County on April 23, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Joseph Sanders Parker and Versie Viola Grissett. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glenn H. Parker and Joseph Sanders Parker II. She was a faithful and devoted member of Sunset Beach Community Church. She retired from the State of North Carolina Employees retirement division and was employed part-time at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. She loved being around other people and she never met a stranger. She also enjoyed playing bingo.

Funeral services will take place Thursday May 26th, 2016 at 2:00 o’clock in the afternoon at Sunset Beach Community Church with Reverend Harold L. Gore and Mr. Rick Rueter officiating. An interment service will follow in the Brooks Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Nicholas Elvis Smith, Henry Elvis Smith, John Walz, Ken Carter, Lee Howard, Bill Sprinkle.

She is survived by two children, Joseph Earl Wall of Burgaw, Brenda Carol Smith and husband Henry Elvis Smith of Shallotte; two grandchildren, Nicholas Elvis Smith and Shannon Nicole Smith and fiancé Demetrice Anderson; a very special nephew, Randy Parker of Shallotte.

Friends are cordially invited to a time of visitation one hour prior to the funeral service at the church located at 1643 Seaside Rd., Pelican Square, Sunset Beach and other times at her daughter’s home at Birchwood Apartments in Shallotte.
