

Cathy was born in Baltimore Maryland on March 6, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Richard William Jones, Sr. and Alta Sebastian Jones. She grew up in Wilkesboro, NC and later attended Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk. Cathy also lived in the Triad area as well as Clearwater, FL before resettling locally. She was an administrative assistant for her son’s business Tomco Remodeling for several years. Cathy loved flowers and was able to display her talent in floral design while working at Food Lion as a Florist.
She was most recently a member of River of Life Baptist Church of Calabash. She enjoyed serving in her community at South Brunswick Islands Chamber of Commerce and also volunteering with the Brunswick Family Assistance Food Pantry.
While attending First Baptist Church of Shallotte she volunteered with the Upward Sports program & sang in the choir. Cathy had a beautiful voice and loved singing along with her favorite praise and worship songs. She was known by family and friends as a prayer warrior with tremendous faith who walked daily with God, relying on His presence and guidance. One of the most memorable things about Cathy was her genuine love for people. No matter the circumstances, she would always stop to make time for others. They would share their stories with her, and she delighted in encouraging each person with care and compassion.
Cathy was proceeded in death by her granddaughter, Brittany Johnson.
She is survived by her husband, Retired Pastor, Dr. Hal Bilbo of the home; two children, Kimberly Gay and husband Mark of Shallotte and Tom Johnson and wife Tina of Supply; a grandson, Alex Johnson of Supply; great granddaughter, Ava Grace Johnson of Supply; a brother, Richard Jones, Jr. and wife Brenda of Taylorsville, NC and her canine companion, Abigail Grace.
Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to caregivers and nurses Latoya, Jasmine, Laura, and Ashley with Lower Cape Fear Life Care for their exceptional care and support.
Her memorial service will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 6:00 PM at White Funeral and Cremation Service Shallotte Chapel, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte with Reverend Michael Borton officiating.A private burial will take place at Silent Grove Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
