Christina Pokorny

Chris was born October 18, 1950 in New York, daughter of the late Ted Wolanski and Catherine Martz Wolanski. She grew up in Rockland County, New York and worked at Orange and Rockland Utilities until retirement. Chris was always known to others as a kind, considerate lady who enjoyed giving to numerous charities. She and her husband Tom moved to North Carolina and made their home in Shallotte in 2014. It was here, she enjoyed working around her home and spending time with her husband Tom going to dinner and attending church services.

Survivors include her loving husband of 51 years, Tom Pokorny of Shallotte; two brothers, Ted Wolanski of West Nyack, New York and John Wolanski and spouse Jeremy Brown of Woodshole, Massachusetts.

A funeral mass will be held Friday, December 5, 2025 at St. Brendan Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from seven o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina.
