Dorothea Jane Fox

Jane was born July 28, 1950 in Cumberland County, daughter of the late William Thomas Bullington and Mary Katherine Canady Bullington. She worked as Secretary/Treasurer of Calabash Fire Department for almost 17 years. Her love for the department and the love she had for the staff was unwavering. She was a mother figure to many through the years. Jane was also the driving force behind many improvements that were made to the department over the years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother William Thomas Bullington, Jr.; sister, Sandra K. Bullington Harris; and brother-in-law, Ken Stephen Van Herpen.

Survivors include her husband Charles Willis Fox, Jr.; sons, Aric Meares and wife Zulema, Charles Willis Fox, III and wife Ashley; daughter, Whitney Sloane Sauls and husband Brandon; sisters, Pamela VanHerpen, and Martha Casey and husband Craig; grandchildren, Robert Michael Meares, Miranda Isabella Lopez, Ariana Zophia Meares, Will Willis Fox IV, Piper Fox, Sloane Sauls, and Sydney Sauls; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Clara Currence, Brenda Wells and husband James, and Merle Hazzard.

Funeral services will be Saturday, May 17, 2025 at three o'clock in the afternoon at Ocean Isle Beach Chapel. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (from two o'clock until three o'clock) at Ocean Isle Beach Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, Jane would love for donations to go to Ocean Isle Beach Chapel.
