Frances was born in Brunswick County on January 25, 1947 and was the daughter of the late Andrew Benjamin Gray and Annie Neal Demery Gray. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, A.B. Gray and Tim Gray. She owned and operated Mankin's Grill on the Holden Beach Causeway for many years. Frances was a member of Sharon Methodist Church. She founded "The Kings Kids" where she raised money to purchase toys for children at Christmas.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Mankin of Shallotte and Ben Mankin of Ash; four grandchildren, Caison Clemmons, Gage Mankin, Gavin Mankin and Alyssa Mankin; a brother, Jerry Gray of Shallotte.
A graveside service for Frances will be held Friday, February 16, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Chapel Hill Cemetery, Hwy 17, Shallotte, NC. with Reverend Eddie Hill officiating.
There is no visitation.
