He was born in Pontiac, Michigan on August 7, 1934 the son of the late Alfred Childs and June McRoberts Childs.
Mr. Childs was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Henni Estenfelder Childs of the home; a son, Jamie Childs of Mattapoisett, MA; two daughters, Patricia Nobrega and husband, Dennis of Marion Mass and Fay Layman and husband, Tim of Rome, GA; a sister, Gerry Labarre and husband, Dick of Poquoson, VA; two step-sons, Mark Mitchell and wife, Ashley of Shallotte and Bill Mitchell and wife, Betty of Fayetteville, NC; one step-daughter, Lorelei Schoonmaker and husband, Tony of Bay City, WI ; 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date
