Dave, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Chicago, IL on March 12, 1939. He moved with his family to Washington DC as a young child where he grew up in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood on the 1800 block of Newton St NW. Dave attended Sacred Heart parochial school and graduated from Archbishop Carroll High School in the class of 1957. He then served in the US Navy from January 1960 to July 1962 where he was trained as an Electronics Technician and was a mariner in the Submarine Service on the USS Argonaut, stationed in Puerto Rico. Following his active duty in the Navy, Dave began a career in the 1960s as a Service Representative in Washington D.C. with Xerox Corporation (which lasted over 37 years), specializing in photocopiers just as they were becoming the single most indispensable piece of office equipment in workplaces around the world .
In the decades that followed, Dave married and raised two daughters in Lanham, MD. Dave remarried in 1991 to Mercy McCurdy and resided in Davidsonville, MD until they retired in 2005 to Holden Beach NC.
Dave will be fondly remembered as the Bryan family Santa Claus, always arriving with much anticipation from the children. During his retirement Dave enjoyed visiting family, traveling, fix-it projects and volunteering for local animal welfare groups.
Dave is survived by his wife Mercy and her two adult children Sean (Tracey) Heath and Mercy Beth (Brian) Hahne, as well as his first wife Sherrie Tramblie-LaTourette and their two daughters Tammie Bryan-Bell (Lance) and Jennie Bryan. Dave is also survived by his sisters Anne Nelson (Roy) and Helen White (Tom), both residing in Maryland, as well as grandchildren: Aidan Bell, Chloe Bell, Noah Negron, Jackson Heath, Dylan Heath, Mercy May Hahne and Gabrielle Hahne. Dave will be fondly remembered and missed by all his family and friends, and his many cousins, in-laws, nieces and nephews.
