Mr. West was born in Thomasville, NC on May 21, 1955 and was the son of Doris Chappell of Supply and the late Richard Leonard West II. He was a plumber. He loved coming to Holden Beach and spending time with his family.
Survivors in addition to his mother include a son, Richard Leonard IV and wife Heather of Lexington, NC, a daughter, Cary Taylor and husband Michael of Thomasville, NC; his grandchildren, Taylor Grainger, Jaydin Taylor, Holden Wright, Landon Everhart, Ayden West, Corbin West, Justin and Brittany Taylor; a sister Sandra Faye Rhodes of Supply.
A memorial service will be held at Brunswick Islands Baptist Church on Thursday June 27th, 2019 at two o'clock in the afternoon with Reverend Rudy Ramphal officiating.
