

He was the son of Vincent and Esther Ebert who predeceased him. Bob was a disabled veteran of the US Army, he served from 1971 to 1973. Bob retired in 2006 from the DOCS after 39 years of service with the title of Superintendent. He was instilled with a hard work ethic and strong family values. He was a country soul deep rooted in family. He had the need to provide and protect all that he loved.
Predeceased by his sibling’s: Butch, Walter, Ann, and Debbie. Survived by sibling’s: Clarence Buster and Pam Ebert, Julie and Jack Vernold, Tucker and Margeret Ebert, Chris Ebert, David and Carol Johnson.
Survived by his loving wife Barbara Ebert and all his children: Kelli and Truk Bentley, Robin Flynn and Thomas Traviglia, Robert “Bobby” Ebert Jr, David and Kasey Ebert, Misty Ebert and Pete Groza, Mike and Lori Kendall, and Veronica Mckoy. Also survived by his grandchildren: Briana, Kendra, Austin, Billy and Gage Bentley, Destin Travigila, Grayson Ebert, Trevor and Preston Ebert, Francesa, Fallon and Aurel “Sonny” Groza, Ryan Durling and Madelyn Kendall. He was also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great and great greats that he held very close to his heart.
His heart reached out to everyone he met. He loved to gather them together whenever he got the chance. He was fun loving and always the life of the party. He enjoyed dancing and singing his favorite country songs. He also enjoyed riding horses, playing golf, gambling and playing games with family and friends. Bob was an avid sports fan. He loved to watch his Giants, Yankees, Knicks, and Rangers play. You might have known him as Dad, Gpa, Papa, Turtle man, HoHo, Uncle Bob, Big Bob, DEP, SUP or Mr. Ebert, but he will always be remembered as being sweeter than a dew drop on a red, red rose.
A celebration of life will be held on February 3, 2024 1:00pm at Southern Dutchess Golf Club, Beacon, New York.
