Thomas Earl "Scompie" Robinson Sr.

Mr. Thomas Earl “Scompie” Robinson Sr., 80, of the Boones Neck Community in Supply died Sunday, December 3, 2023, at the Lower Cape Fear Life Care Center in Bolivia, NC, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Robinson was born in Brunswick County, NC on March 1, 1943, the son of the late Larry C. and Evelyn Phelps Robinson. He was member of the Shell Point Baptist Church. He was employed by the Norfolk Dredging Company for many years, founded the Robinson’s Superette in Boones Neck, and remained self-employed for over 60 years having developed Shell Point Acres, Little Shallotte River Estates and engaged in many other successful business ventures. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bennie G. Robinson and Donald C. Robinson; two sisters, Lena Mae Robinson and Alice Rae Carter.

He is survived by his loving wife Sandra M. Robinson of the home; two sons, Thomas E. Robinson Jr. of Supply, NC, Ricky Lee Robinson and wife Carla of Birmingham, Alabama; three grandchildren, Dalton Robinson, Kyra Robinson Burleson and husband Connor, all of Birmingham, Alabama, Melanie Elaine, of Supply, NC; three sisters, Doris L. McDuffie, Judy Lockamy, and Mary Clemmons, all of Supply, NC. He also leaves behind eight great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 7, 2023 at two o'clock in the afternoon at Shell Point Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Silent Grove Cemetery on Holden Beach Road.

Active pallbearers will be David M. Robinson, Donald L. Robinson, Zendal Whaley, John Perry Robinson, Bobby Snow and Steve McGowan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Phillip Robinson, Benny Ludlum, Gene Cumbee, O’Brien Robinson, John Henry Ward, James Calvin Hewett, and Dale Millikan.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 6, 2023 from six o'clock until eight o'clock in the evening at White Funeral Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, and other times from the home at 2468 Boones Neck Road, Supply.
