Tyrone Allen Carney

Mr. Carney was born in Davenport, IA on February 20, 1956, the son of the late Elmer Donald Chapman and Carmilla Schneider Chapman and was preceded in death by two sisters, Debra Lynn Dixon and Teresa Doreen Zier.

“Ty’’ was a very active member of Sharon United Methodist Church. After he re-dedicated his life to Christ in 2002, he and his wife were very active in the Samaritan’s Purse Christmas Shoe Box Ministry, the Angel Tree Ministry, and the ministry closest to his heart, the Audio/Visual Ministry.

Surviving are his wife of 33 years, Karen L. Carney of the home; a daughter, Jessica Carney Gowland and husband, Josh of Kernersville, NC; two grandchildren, Hannah Payton and Marissa Rice and husband Shaston; one great-grandchild, Aria Rice; one brother, Donald Chapman and wife Tammy of Angier, NC; four sisters, Kathryn Cornelius and husband, John of Willow Springs, NC, Kimberly Parker and husband, Carroll of Benson, NC, Doretta Harris and husband, Richard of Emerald Isle, NC and Belinda Ackelson of West Virginia; and a special pet, “Zoey Girl”.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 in the afternoon on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Sharon United Methodist Church by Reverend Eddie Hill officiating.

Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
