William Wayne Currie

Bill was born May 5, 1950, in Rockingham, North Carolina to the late Jesse Garrett and Geneva English Currie. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Currie Terry and Peggy Jean Currie, a brother, Carson G. Currie and nephew, MikeTerry.

Bill graduated from Rockingham High School with the class of 1968. Bill worked for and retired from GE in Wilmington after Clark Equipment Company in Rockingham closed operations in the early 80’s.

Bill loved to fish and be outdoors, he especially loved spending time with family and friends sitting on his back porch.

Bill is survived by his daughters, Torri Bailey of Wilmington and Holly Mabe (Keith) of Bolivia; sister JoAnn Terry of Ellerbe; granddaughters Rebekah Mabe of Ocean Isle, Charlotte and Elizabeth Bailey of Wilmington; great grandson Mason Perkins of Ocean Isle; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews that all loved him dearly.

A private Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or a special charity of your choice.
