William Thomas Register

Mr. Register was born in Shallotte on December 5, 1934, son of the late Wilbur Chapman Register and Maggie Williams Register. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and attended Village Point United Methodist Church for many years. Mr. Register retired from General Electric Nuclear Division in Wilmington, North Carolina. He also worked for Jack’s Farm and Garden in Shallotte, enjoyed farming and shrimping, and was an avid gardener. Those who knew Mr. Tommy saw he was a very hard worker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife Martha Register.

Survivors include his children; Amy Moore and husband Larry of Shallotte, Reverend Mark Register and wife Theresa of Shallotte, Polly Barnhill and husband Larry of Whiteville; grandchildren, Adam Glisson, Josh White, Madison Batten, Maggie Barnhill, and Josh Barnhill; great grandchildren, Ana White, Amelia Batten and Owen Batten; two brothers, Steve Register and wife Phyllis and Jimmy Register, both of New Market, Tennessee; and sister, Winifred Wellman of Shallotte.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 21, 2025 at three o’clock in the afternoon in the Lou White Memorial Chapel of White Funeral and Cremation Service, 3660 Express Drive, Shallotte, North Carolina with Reverend Jason Benton officiating. Burial will follow in Mintz Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Adam Glisson, Josh White, Josh Barnhill, Brett Batten, Will Ivey, and Dan Formyduval.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
