

Dennis J. Wallander, age 63, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure with family by his side on Monday, December 16, 2013. He was born October 17, 1950, the son of Dorothy (Damrow) Wallander and the late Elroy Wallander. Dennis attended Holy Name Catholic School and graduated from Sheboygan North High School in 1968. On July 3, 1976, Dennis and Jane Rasch were united in marriage at Holy Name Catholic Church. He was employed at Luedke’s Meat Market, Trilling Hardware, Weaver’s, Evan’s and Martens-Trilling Hardware. He retired in 2010 but continued working part-time at Stonekroft Dog Kennel.
Dennis enjoyed custom cars, going to car shows, photography, working in his yard, going to the family cabin in Florence County, making owl houses, working on his deer stand, and spending time with his dogs: Gunner, Ruger and Cruize. He also enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center developing his computer skills.
Dennis is lovingly survived by his wife, Jane Wallander of Sheboygan; brothers: Mark (Sharon) Wallander of Sheboygan, Lee (Vicki) Wallander of Sheboygan, Tom Wallander of Sheboygan; sisters: Ann (John) Schwibinger of Plymouth, Therese (Spencer) Lutzke of Sheboygan; sister-in-law, Linda (Wayne) Jauquet of Brussels; nieces and nephews: Heather, Shawn, Nicole, Kelly, Taylor, Alysa, Kayla, Kyle, Travis, Nicolette, Roxanne; great-nephews: Jaxon, Jaeger, Cole, Gage, Eli, Noah; aunts, uncles (special aunt and uncle, Jim and Audrey Damrow), cousins and his beloved German Shephard, Cruize.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Elroy Wallander, grandparents, John (Carrie) Wallander and Frank (Helen) Damrow, mother and father-in-law, Richard (Elaine) Rasch; nephew, Jared, and his beloved dogs, Gunner and Ruger.
Dennis’ last act of kindness was a donation to the Wisconsin Tissue Bank to help others. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the paramedics, firemen, and Matt at Sheboygan Memorial Emergency Room for all their care and support for Dennis.
