

Genoveva was born May, 1, 1962 in Aguililla, Michoacan, Mexico to Donaciano and Isabel (Guzman) Ayala.
In 1977 she and her family moved to California. In 1982 Ramon Contreras and Genoveva Ayala were united in marriage. After being blessed with three children, she and her family moved to Sheboygan in 1992 and were blessed with two more children.
Genoveva was employed with JL French for over 17 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her granddaughter. Genoveva loved cooking and taking long walks.
She is survived by her husband, Ramon Contreras of Sheboygan; five children, Jessica (Chad) Brown, Elizabeth (Benjamin) Protzmann, Ramon Jr. Contreras, Carolina Contreras, and Favian Contreras, all of Sheboygan; one granddaughter, Melanie Protzmann of Sheboygan; mother, Isabel Guzman of California; six sisters, Margarita Zepeda, Maria Huiltron, Elvira Ayala, Veronica Vazquez, Socorro Guzman, and Ines Villalobos, all of California.
Genoveva was preceded in death by her father, Donaciano Guzman; uncle, Salvador Guzman; mother-in-law, Carolina Vasquez; father-in-law, Fidel Contreras; and aunt, Delfina Guzman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Friday, April 13, 2012 at St. Clement Catholic Church. Rev. James E. Connell will be the Celebrant. A time of visitation and support will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
Genoveva’s family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Marsho and staff and Dr. Matthews and his staff for the wonderful care given to her.
Genoveva will be remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put herself last and cared for others.
She was a fighter and a strong woman.
