

Herman attended Immanuel Lutheran School, Southside Junior High School and Central High School. Continuing education was completed at University of Illinois, Urbana, University of Wisconsin and Fox Valley Technical School in Green Bay.
He served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. The Honor Flight in 2011 was a cherished trip.
On June 26, 1948, Herman was united in marriage to Caroline Weber at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano, WI. Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Sheboygan was their place of worship. Herman enjoyed taking walks through Terry Andre Park with his friend, George and fishing with his buddies. He coached basketball at Immanuel Lutheran School for over 13 years, and was a mentor to many kids.
Survivors, along with his wife, include his daughter, Cynthia (Jeff) Braeger; son, Michael (Kim) Kohls; grandchildren, Kimberly (Kevin) Heidemann, Jennifer (Mark) Jones, Ashley (Tim) Stanton, Brittany (Jake) Rowoldt, Ryan Kohls; and great-grandson Andrew Jones. He is further survived by nieces and nephews along with brother-in-law Carl (Diane) Weber. Herman was preceded in death by his parents and four sisters.
Funeral services for Herman will be held Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 11:30 am at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 1634 Illinois Ave., Sheboygan. Rev. Adam L. Scheblein will officiate. Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Following the service, full military honors will be accorded.
A memorial fund has been established in Herman’s name.
