

Marvin was born June 3, 1924 in Sheboygan to Henry and Mabel (Wagner) Wesener. He attended Washington Grade School and was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1943.
Upon graduation Marvin joined the US Merchant Marine where he served 4 ½ years. He returned to Sheboygan and was employed at Armour Leather Co. for 3 ½ years interrupted by a US Army service of 5 months.
On July 30, 1949 Marvin married Dorothy Herr of Sheboygan. After almost 58 years of marriage, Dorothy preceded him in death on April 5, 2007.
Marvin worked at the Edgewater Generating Station of Wisconsin Power and Light Co. for over thirty four years, retiring in 1985 as Power Plant Specialist.
Marvin’s interests included traveling in all 50 states and 87 countries, camping, fishing, and spending great times with his 5 grandchildren. He loved to reminisce about his experiences in the US Merchant Marine and also at Edgewater. His children smile when they remember the many illicit trips to Illinois in the early 60’s he took to procure yellow oleo for family and friends.
He was a member of the WP&L Pioneer Club and a past member of Toastmasters.
He is survived by four children, Carol LeBlanc of San Antonio, TX, Janice Van Ess of Oostburg, Raymond (Linda) Wesener of Cleveland, and Marlene Wesener of Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Jean (Jeremy) Gray of San Diego, CA, Chris LeBlanc of Blacksburg, VA, Courtney Van Ess of Shadow Hills, CA, Lindsey Van Ess of Oostburg, and Holly Wesener of Charlston, SC; two great-grandchildren, Katie and Erik Gray; three sisters-in-law, Delores Wesener, Lucille Herr both of Sheboygan and Vivian Keippel of Cascade; one brother-in-law, Wally (Madeline) Herr of Sheboygan; and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Wesener, his sister and brother-in-law, Marion (Walter) Lorenz; his son-in-law, Ken Van Ess; and three brothers-in-law, James, Robert, and Raymond Herr.
In honoring his wishes, there will be no services.
Marvin’s family would like to acknowledge the camraderie he enjoyed with his fellow residents at Mapledale Village Senior Apartments.
Marvin’s grandchildren will always fondly remember the camping trips and all the times he chauffered them to activities.
