He was born January 27, 1933 in Gaylord, Minnesota to David and Frieda (Scheidel) Eirich. He was a graduate of Sheboygan North High School, Class of 1951. On October 31, 1953 Ralph and Doris (Weimann) were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church. Doris preceded him in death on June 7, 1998.
For over thirty years Ralph was employed at Gus Holman as a crane operator, until his retirement.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
He throroughly enjoyed woodworking and spending time at his trailer up north. In his younger years he competed in archery, winning the state championship. He loved spending time with his family and the outdoors. Ralph was best known for his one-liners that brought a smile to everyone’s face.
Ralph is survived by his children, Linda (Raymond) Ramos, David (Mary) Eirich, Dan (Joann) Eirich, and Amy (special friend, Todd Sommersberger) Eirich all of Sheboygan; ten grandchildren, Ray (Laura) Ramos, Ryan (Lisa) Ramos, Amanda (Mike) Christiansen, Jamie Eirich, Tracy (special friend, Ethan Grim) Eirich, Stacy (special friend, Ted Watson) Eirich, Jessica Eirich, and Brittney Eirich, Stephanie Sommersberger, and Tyler Sommersberger; thirteen great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy (Eugene) Bemis; his in-laws, Robert (Nancy) Weimann, Cal Weimann, Walter (Terry) Weimann, Maria Wensauer, Kenneth Weimann, Donald (June) Weimann, John (special friend, Sue) Weimann, Joanne Jacobs, many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, Doris, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Sandra and Rudy Eirich; his in-laws, Walter (Lilly) Voss, Bud (Wilma) Fieck, Lyle Wensauer, Carol Weimann, Helen (Eugene) Panzer, Earl Jacobs, Leona Weimann.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2013 at Ballhorn Funeral Chapels. Rev. Timothy J. Mech, Senior Pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. A time of visitation and support will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name.
Ralph’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to the staff at Pine Haven Christian Home for the wonderful care they provided him these last three years.
