Louise Morris Morris Kyger

Louise Rebecca Morris Kyger, 83, of Shenandoah, passed away at her home on Sunday, October 23, 2016. She was born on July 23, 1933 in Harrisonburg and was the daughter of the late Lonzo Lee and Myrl Reubush Morris. Louise graduated from Port Republic High School, attended Madison College and retired from Nations Bank after 28 years of service. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Shenandoah where she served on various committees and was a former Sunday school teacher; she was also a life member of the Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and was treasurer until 2015. Louise also formerly served as a board member for the Page County Department of Social Services. She had a deep love for animals, especially her cats. She is survived by a son, Roger Stepp of Elkton; a daughter, Jennifer Stepp Foltz of Shenandoah; a brother, Byron Morris and a sister, Jean Hogshead both of Bridgewater; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jennings Morris. The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at the church with Rev. Dr. Larry Aikens and Rev. Stephen Creech officiating. Burial will be at Coverstone Cemetery.
