Nealda Alma (Comer) Anderson

Nealda Alma Comer Anderson (93) of Shenandoah passed away in her sleep December 14, 2023 with some members of her family at her side. She was born August 17, 1930 and was the last remaining member of the Jake and Lola Comer family of Shenandoah. She had been a resident at Willow Estates for the last years and had been in failing health. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three half-brothers (Clarence,Floyd, Clyde), five brothers (Virgil, Max, Lynwood, Ardel, Ray), and three sisters (Nina,Dora, Naden). She is survived by her former husband William Anderson and their four children (William, Sylvia, Donald, Stuart), four grandchildren (William, Deborah, Caitlin, William), five great grandchildren (Trinity, Brayden, Bentley, Brenna, Kiersten), and many cherished nieces and nephews. Nealda was married in Washington D.C. September 1953 and began her life as a proud military wife living throughout the country including Maryland, New Mexico, Maine, Connecticut, Hawaii, and numerous others, as well as 3 years in Madrid, Spain. She spent her retirement years living at the family homestead on Crooked Run Road in Shenandoah prior to living within assisted living facilities. She was a member of the Mount Lebanon Church on Comertown Road. A celebration of her life memorial service will be held at the Mount Lebanon Church in Shenandoah January 5, 2024 at 7 PM weather permitting. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Company, 201 Pennsylvania Avenue, Shenandoah, Virginia.
