Andrew Phillip Summers, age 77, of Louisville, Kentucky, was taken to be with the Lord on Monday, January 19, 2026. Andrew was born in Buckhannon, West Virginia, to Dolly and Clayton Summers, and was one of fourteen children.
Andrew graduated from Upshur County High School in 1969. That same year, he joined the United States Army and was later deployed to South Korea. It was there that he met the love of his life, Sung Yo Summers, lovingly known as Annie. Following his military service and the birth of their two wonderful daughters, Sandy Moria Deel and Priscilla Christine Summers, the family of four made their home in Louisville, Kentucky.
Andrew was a devoted family man who took great pride in those he loved. His family was his greatest joy, including his beloved wife and daughters, his son-in-law, his grandchildren, and a great-grandchild who will be born in March.
Andrew was a passionate University of Louisville Cardinals fan. He enjoyed reading classic Western novels and loved listening to Elvis Presley. He cherished watching his children and grandchildren play sports, and more than anything he loved spending time with his family.
He was a faithful member of The Immanuel Korean Church of Louisville, where he attended Sunday morning services alongside his wife.
Remaining to cherish Andrew’s memory are his wife, Sung Yo (Annie) Summers; daughters, Sandy Deel and her spouse, Michael Deel, and Priscilla Summers; grandchildren, Samuel Deel and his spouse, Jennifer Deel, and Lauren Deel; siblings, Helen Johnson, Janet Lough, John Summers, Vickie Oldaker, and Greg Blagg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
