Barbara Louise Butler Kendall

Barbara Louise Butler Kendall age 84, of Shepherdsville, returned to her Heavenly Father on Thursday, July 11, 2024. She was born in Hart County, KY on Monday, October 30, 1939, to the late Gilbert and Gertrude “Riggs” Butler. 

She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Mia McHargue; her brothers, W.H. Butler and Robert Butler; along with the father of her children, Jackie McHargue.

Barbara was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Kendall Realty for over 50 years. She was the first female Real Estate Broker in Bullitt County and taught many years at the A-Pass-Weikel Institute where she made many lifelong friends. She was the director of the Bullitt County Mud Run and was also involved with the Steering Community at Bullitt County Drug Court. Barbara enjoyed painting, making quilts, gardening, canning, baking, building doll houses and especially spending time with her family.  

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, J.D. “Donnie” McHargue (Jennifer Bradshaw), Ron “Buddy” McHargue (Kathy), Deidre McHargue Curtsinger and Darrell McHargue; her siblings, Doline Ard, Donna Lewis (Bill) and Will Butler; her grandchildren, Kristy Curtsinger, Trey McHargue, Amy Hall, Christopher McHargue and Julie Kelty; her great grandchildren, Ian, Jacob, Maggie, Bella and Edith; along with a host of friends.

Funeral service will be at 2 pm, Friday, July 19, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home 285 South Buckman Street Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitations will be Thursday 2 pm until 8 pm and Friday 9 am until the time of service at 2 pm.
