Charles Joseph Key, age 80 of Shepherdsville, returned to his heavenly father on Thursday, August 17, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born in Louisville, KY on Tuesday, June 15, 1943, to the late William and Alma Key.
He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Key.
He was a Catholic by faith. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering and fixing things. He also enjoyed time with his family and will be deeply missed.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 61 years, Peggy Key; his children, Cathy Key and Charles Key (Janice); his siblings, William Key (Marcie), Robert Key (Martha) and Diane Beckmann; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; along with a host of friends.
The family has entrusted Hardy-Close Funeral Home with cremation services.
