Donald "Russell" Shepherd

Donald “Russell” Shepherd, age 66 of Shepherdsville, returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, with his family by his side. He was born on Sunday, March 17, 1957, to the late Howard and Sophia Shepherd.

In addition to his parents, he also preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Shepherd, Jesse Shepherd, and Wilbur Shepherd.  

Russell was a mechanic by trade and enjoyed working on cars. He liked to ride motorcycles and horses. Russell will be missed by all those that knew and loved him. 

He is survived by his siblings, Kenneth Shepherd (Linda), Evelyn Dockery (Charles), and Danny Shepherd (Janey); a daughter, Marcia Coy (Michael); a grandson, Trenton; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral service will be at 2pm Friday, February 23, 2024, in the chapel of Hardy-Close Funeral Home, 285 S. Buckman Street, Shepherdsville, with burial to follow at Bullitt Lick Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, on Friday from 9 till the time of service at 2pm.
