Simmons, Walter Sr. 88 of Shepherdsville entered eternal life July 8, 2014 at Golden Living Hill Creek. He was a retired Box Car Operator for L&N Railroad and a Navy Veteran. He is preceded in death by his wife Mildred "Dude" Hodge-Simmons. Mr. Simmons leaves those to cherish his memory son Walter "Buzz" Simmons Jr. (Pam), daughter Lillian Myers, great friend Mary Perkins, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 11am Friday at Hardy-Close Funeral Home with burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 -8pm Thursday and after 9am Friday until time of Service.
