Carolyn Kay Carney

Mrs. Carolyn Kay (French) Carney, age 73, of Lebanon Junction returned to her Heavenly Father on October 8, 2022. Mrs. Carney was born on November 30, 1948, in Louisville, KY to the late Joseph E. and Frances (Fewell) French. Mrs. Carney was a special education teacher and retired from Bullitt County Public Schools. She was a member of First Christian Church of Lebanon Junction. She loved reading, singing gospel hymns, and being around children. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, twin sister, Beverly Calvert; brother, Tommy French; and grandson, Shaun Carney.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband of 55 years, Gary Carney, Sr.; sons, Gary Carney, Jr. and Scott Carney (Audrey); grandchildren, Gary A. Carney, Heather Donaldson, Colton Carney, and Faith Carney; 6 great-grandchildren; brother, Tim French (Pam); and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm on Thursday, October 13, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 2-8 pm and Thursday from 11 am until time of service at the funeral home.
