Charles "Charlie" Lee Spencer

Charles “Charlie” Lee Spencer, age 79, of Highview returned to his Heavenly Father on Monday, July 1, 2024. He was born on November 13, 1944, in Oldham County Kentucky, to the late Robert and Nannie (Morris) Spencer. Charlie retired from Phillip Morris after 30 years of service. He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Vietnam War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 10 brothers and sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 57 years, Georgia (Schmitz) Spencer; son, Craig Lee Spencer (Cyndi); grandchildren, Morgan Troutman (Jack), Drew Spencer and Chaz Spencer; great-granddaughter, Sarah Troutman, brother, James Spencer (Janet) and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 9:30 am in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from 1 pm until 8 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warriors Project in Charlie's name are greatly appreciated.
