Daniel Richard Whelan

Daniel Richard Whelan, age 66, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 5, 2024.   He was born on June 13, 1957 in Louisville to the late Joseph Daniel Whelan and Marilyn Sue Gill.    

He was a former HVAC maintenance technician and a member of St. Athanasius Church.  He was always full of love, laughter and happiness.

Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Whelan and Joseph Whelan; a sister, Mary Downs.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Daniel Whelan (Elaina Shaw); daughter, Marissa Whelan; grandchild, Lukas Kaiser; sisters, Marina Coffey, Bridgette Self, Donna Whelan-Crawford and Janet Stillwell; brother, Paul Whelan; mother of his children, Kim Whelan; loving companion, Margaret Willett and a host of other nieces, nephews and relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, January 12, 2024 at 2 pm, at the Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.).  Family and friends may pay their respects from 10 am until time of the service at the funeral home.
