Diane Michele Burke

Diane Michele Burke, age 58 of Shepherdsville, KY went home to her Heavenly Father on April 11, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born to Donald and Billie Waltrip on February 15, 1963 in Louisville, KY. Diane graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, she attended the University of Louisville and she was a bookkeeper for Jefferson County Public Schools. She was an advocate for M.A.D.D. and WHAS Crusade for Children. She loved the lake and enjoyed the beach with her family and friends. Diane was immensely proud of her family, and she leaves nothing but beautiful memories behind. Diane was also so proud of her titles as “mom, “wife”, and “nana”.

Diane was married to her best friend and rock, Kevin for more than 32 years. She is also survived by her three children, Nikki Francis (Tim), Bradley Burke, and Bryan Burke; grandchildren, Annie and Zoe Francis; sister, Dana Moore (Dwight); brother, Don Waltrip (Melissa) and a host of other dear family and friends.

Diane was preceded in death by her beautiful daughter, Jamie Lee Burke.

Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, April 17, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

In Lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations to be made to Diane’s favorite charity, WHAS 11 Crusade for Children.
