Donald McArthur Downey

Mr. Donald McArthur Downey, age 79, of Mt. Washington returned to his Heavenly Father on June 5, 2022. Mr. Downey was born on July 16, 1942, in Liberty, Kentucky to the late Claude and Christine (Coppage) Downey. Mr. Downey retired from Local #70 as an ironworker. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, grandparents, Lesley and Kizzy Coppage, and Pete and Lou Willie Downey; sister, Catherine Downey; and son, Destry Downey.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 31 years, Diann (Huddleston) Downey; children, Aaron Tyra and Tracy Taylor; grandson, Eric Taylor (Megan); great-grandchildren, Kolton and Wyatt; and siblings, Wanda Lane, Randall Downey (Betty), Lucy McFarland, Ray Downey (Nancy), Jeri Parish (David), Helen May (Terry), and Danny Downey (Rita).

A memorial service will be conducted at 12 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with inurnment in Brookland Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Saturday from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
