Donald Bruce Shaw

He was born March 11, 1944 in Grove City, Pennsylvania. Don is a graduate of Lakeview High School and Thiel College. He was a long-time resident of Ashland, Kentucky where he served as the Circulation Director of the Ashland Daily Independent for many years. He was active in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and church activities. Don was a city council member in Greenville, PA for many years as well. He was a loving husband and father. Don had the ability to intelligently discuss most topics and was well regarded and respected in the community. After living ten years back in Pennsylvania, Don and Sandee moved to Louisville, Kentucky to be closer to family.

He is preceded in death by his father, Donald Keith Shaw; his mother, Helen Rose Heckman Shaw and his brother, Larry Shaw.

He was the devoted husband of, Sandee Wilson, the Shaw's were married for 52 years. They have four children, Donald Bruce Shaw II (Joyce), Aaron Shaw (Gregory Clayton), Melissa Dale Davis (Michael) and Benjamin Wilson Shaw (Kelly), 12 grandchildren, sister Kathy Shaw and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 pm on Sunday, February 12, 2017 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd.). Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 3:30 pm until the time of service. Burial will be held at 10:00 on Monday, February 13, 2017 at Brookland Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Northeast Christian Church or Temple Shalom.
