Floyd C. Spears

Mr. Floyd Cornelius Spears, age 77, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 26, 2021. Mr. Spears was born in the homeplace at Greasy Creek, KY on September 12, 1943 to the late Elkana Spears and Artie Meecy Childers Spears. He was an insurance adjustor at Pilot Catastrophe Services for over 30 years, Floyd was a former minister in pike county, Ky and he stood firm in his faith. He loved Nascar Racing, and University of Kentucky basketball.

Among those who preceded him in death are, his son, Robert Douglas Spears; grandson, Floyd DeWayne Spears; granddaughter, Rachael Coleman; 4 brothers and 8 sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 36 years, Gloria Spears; children, Kevin Dewayne Spears and Derena Spears Coleman (Ronald); special baby granddaughter, Kelcie Spears; grandchildren, Meecy Spears Uddin (Ryan), Robbi Spears (Anna), Rocky Spears, Jacob Coleman (Kealy) and Mary Coleman; great- grandchildren, Archer Spears, Piper Spears, Ethan Michael Todd Spears and Aiden Brock Spears along with a host of nieces and nephews and other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 29, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow at Brookland Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm and on Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
