George Lewis Hardin

George Lewis Hardin age 87 of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on January 16, 2015 at home with family by his side. Among those whom preceded him in death are his parents William E. and Pearl Harden; brothers, Etna, Charlie, Alfred; sisters, Ruth, Addie Bea and Nancy.

Mr. Hardin was a veteran of The Merchant Marines and Army, a retired veteran of the United States Air Force and a retiree of General Electric. Mr Hardin's service to his country spanned from WWII, through the Koren and Vietnam Wars.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 64 years Helen "Moorman" Hardin; children, George Lewis Hardin Jr. (Audrey), Robert Allen Hardin (Bonnie), William Forest Hardin, Diana Lynn Hardin and Mary Elizabeth Brock (Joey); 16 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted 12:00 pm on Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Schoppenhorst Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home 4895 North Preston Highway, Shepherdsville, KY 40165 (Preston Highway at Brooks Road use John Harper entrance) with burial in Highland Memory Gardens. Friends may pay their respects from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at Schoppenhorst.
