

He was born on November 30, 1940, in Washington DC. His death was preceded by his parents Lawrence and Lucy Davis, along with his two sisters Shirley Thorpe and Patricia Quinn.
He is survived by his wife and partner of 27 years, Mary “Kathy” Davis, his two sons Jeffery Davis and Mark (Deniene) Davis, his granddaughter Grace, stepson Jason (Kayla) Thomas, along with multiple nieces and nephews.
He served as a distinguished FBI agent for 28 years, retiring from the Louisville Kentucky office in 1998. His playfulness, dedication and zest for life was readily apparent whenever people met him and his infectious smile. His love of life presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure and honor of interacting with him.
He had a passion for contributing and teaching which he enjoyed expressing as a lead trainer for AARP’s driving classes. Additionally, he loved going to the YMCA exercising and socializing with his friends that he developed over 25 years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at John Harper Freeway). Family and friends may pay their respects from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. The family has requested family and friends to share memories during the memorial service to celebrate the life of Doug.
