John Allen Cotton

Mr. John Cotton, age 72, returned to his Heavenly Father on October 14, 2019.   Mr. Cotton was born in Paxton Kentucky on December 4, 1946 to the late Wilbur and Elizabeth (Rankin) Cotton.  Mr. Cotton was a cutter for Louisville Bedding and Baptist by faith.  

He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Nellie Smith; his parents; siblings, Evelyn Barbara Simpson, James Cotton, William Cotton, Beatrice Childers, Darlene Severs, and Clarence Lee Cotton.  

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, John A. Cotton II, Shannon Faye, Jenifer Ann, Jeffery Smith, Daniel Smith, and Janet Oliver; siblings, Eugene Cotton, Charles Cotton, Mary Rose Simpson, and Cathleen Gosnell; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and a host of other dear family and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, October 18, 2019 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial to follow in St. Stephens Cemetery (1808 S. Preston St., Louisville, Kentucky). Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 1-8 pm at the funeral home.
