

Mr. Joseph (Joe) Edward Fritsch, age 85, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, April 15, 2023. Joe was born in Louisville, KY on March 3, 1938, to the late Joseph Fritsch and Elizabeth (Soder) Fritsch. He worked for the Pillsbury company for 44 years, he was a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, where he oversaw frying the chicken for picnics, he also was a Third degree and Fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He donated and gave a lot of his time to volunteering at church and many other organizations like St. Vincent DePaul, that requested his help. Joe enjoyed sports as he was an avid University of Louisville fan; However, the most important thing in his life was his wife Rita of 65 years and his children and grandchildren, and great- grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Eileen Marie Fritsch, six brothers, Jimmy, Gordon, Melvin, Donnie, Herman, and Eddie Fritsch.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Rita Fritsch, two daughters Colette Hannahs (James), and Lisa Smith (Gerald Dalton), one son Tony Fritsch (Janean), seven grandchildren, Kyle E. Belcher (Anna), Ryan C. Belcher (Emily), Nathan Belcher (Devon), Kevin Hannahs, Joshua Smith (Carol), Chaz Fritsch (Leanna), and Kevin Fritsch, and 5 great-grandchildren Clair Belcher, Chloe Belcher, Tobias Hannahs, Aniah Belcher, and Khaya Belcher, sister, Verna Sauer, and two brothers Gary and Kenny Fritsch. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, and other dear family and friends.
Funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 20, 2023, at St. Rita Catholic Church (8709 Preston Hwy, 40219), with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, April 19 ,2023 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (4895 N. Preston Highway at Brooks Road) from 2:00 p. m. until 8:00 p. m.
