Larry Hartford Gibson

Mr. Larry Hartford Gibson, age 61, of South Louisville returned to his Heavenly Father on August 1, 2016. Mr. Gibson was a truck driver and a member of Brookview Baptist Church. Mr. Gibson was a U.S. Army veteran. Larry was considered a jack of all trades, who enjoyed fishing, gardening and country music. He was a scrapper and a collector of many things. He loved children, babies and his dogs. This is what made him the happiest. Among those that preceded him in death include his father, Hartford Gibson; children, Amanda R. Gibson and Bobby Ranney; and brother, Joe Gibson. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 29 years, Loretta Clements Gibson; mother, Margaret Vibbert Hunt; children, Adam Gibson (Lori), Sonya Gibson, Sarah Ripley (Jesse), Debi Beddow, Mary Warren (Joe), Donna Ranney and Tony Ranney (Brittany); 24 grandchildren who called him Poppy; 4 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Tom Gibson (Mary Lou), Alfred Gibson (Emma), Melvinnia McDonald, Rhoda Haycraft (Charles), Ginger Leffler (Steve) and Greg Gibson (Margaret).

Funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home with cremation to follow.
