Melissa Kay Thompson

Mrs. Melissa Kay Thompson, age 42, of Louisville, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2023. Melissa was born in Louisville, KY on September 1, 1980. She was a warrior who loved being outside, playing Bingo, animals and most of all, being a Mom.

Among those who preceded her in death are, her father, Ronald E. Rupe, Sr. and her beloved dog, Max Thompson.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Daniel Thompson; her loving daughters, Shelby Herchenrader and Katie Herchenrader; mother, Theodora “Tee” Puckett; brothers, Ronald “Ronnie” Rupe, Jr. and Matthew “Bubba” Rupe Sr. (Holly); nieces and nephew, Alexa, Alyssa and Matthew; her cherished dogs and cats, Tucker, Emma Loulou, Leo and Maggie and a host of other dear family and friends.

Celebration of life will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with cremation to follow. Friends and family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until the time of her service at 6pm at the funeral home.
