Michael James Clayton

Mr. Michael James Clayton, age 55, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, May 14, 2023. He was born on September 5, 1967 in Louisville, Kentucky to Jack and Mildred Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a member of Journey Christian Church in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Clayton; maternal grandmother, Rebecca Dunn; aunt, Barbara Houston; uncle, Whop Kelien.

Michael loved going trail riding with his boys and gardening in his vegetable garden. He had a very strong faith and enjoyed watching different genres of movies. He loved visiting with his precious grandchildren and spending time with family on Friday nights at his parents house. Michael was so loved and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 31 years, Lisa Clayton; sons, Travis Clayton (Alyssa), Anthony Clayton (Morgan); grandchildren, Noah Clayton, Ava Clayton and one on the way; parents, Jack and Mildred Clayton; sister, Kathy Wells (Greg); brothers, Dan Clayton, Mark Clayton (Nikki); and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 1:30pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy at Brooks Rd) with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends can pay their respects on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 2:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Tuesday from 11:30am until the time of service at 1:30pm.
