Michael Norris Gerkins

Mr. Michael Norris Gerkins, age 76, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on Friday, March 12, 2021.  Michael was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 21, 1944 to the late Mack and Juanita “Norris” Gerkins. Michael was an active member of Okolona Separate Baptist Church. He was a proud retiree from Ford Motor Company and was a member of United Auto Workers #862. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margie Gerkins; parents; and brother, Charles Gerkins. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Margie Wilhjelm (Doug), Kenny Dillander (Kelli), Lisa Tuggle (Troy) and Michael Gerkins (Nicole); grandchildren, Brittney Milby, Ashley Dyer, Ashly Satterfield, Andi Walz, Erica Horsley, Joshua Dillander, Bryan Brown, Ciara Prestigiacomo, Brandon Brown, Darrell Parker, Chris Carpenter, Tony Parker and Amber Carpenter; 21 great grandchildren; brother, James Gerkins; and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial at Highland Memory Gardens. Friends and Family may pay their respects on Wednesday from 1pm until 8pm and on Thursday from 9am until time of service at the funeral home.
