Michael Rice

Michael Rice, age 70, of Louisville, Kentucky returned to his Heavenly Father on August 27, 2023. He was retired from U.S. Postal Service, a Marine veteran, member of the Marine Corps League Detachment #729 and a member National Mail Carrier Association. Michael was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 31, 1953, to the late William Rice and Mattie Ruth Ferrill Rice. He is preceded in death by his parents. Michael leaves to cherish his memory his Wife Betty Jean Rice; step daughter, Patricia Branham (Edward); six grandchildren, Kimberly Matthews, Crystal George (Gary), William Larimore (Phelicia), Edward Branham Jr, Samantha Sullivan and Mark Green, Jr.; fourteen great grand children, Isabelle Matthews, Gabreals Matthews, Josephine Matthews, Christene Matthews, Heather George, Jaxson George, Wesley George, Natalie Larimore, Graclyn Jo Larimore, Charles Larimore, Amanda Larimore, Gavin Sullivan, Bryson Vincent and Savannah Vincent; special children, Patience, Shaniyah, Leasia, Sariyah and Lamarous;   and a host of other family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Friday, September 1, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with burial in Kentucky Veteran  Cemetery Central September 6, 2023. Friends and Family may pay their respects on Thursday from 1pm until 8 pm with a Marine Visitation Service at 4:30 p.m. and on Friday 9:30 am until time of service at the funeral home.
