Phillip "Johnny" Earl Tinnell

Mr. Phillip Earl “Johnny” Tinnell, age 82, of Shepherdsville returned to his Heavenly Father on August 26, 2023. Mr. Tinnell was born on October 4, 1940, in Clermont, KY to the late Grover and Mabel (Edlin) Tinnell. He was a self-employed licensed plumber and electrician. He was a member of Bullitt Lick Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force veteran. Among those that preceded him in death are his parents, and wife, Judy (Hasting) Tinnell. 

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Todd Tinnell (Angel) and Timothy Tinnell (Anne); grandchildren, Christopher Tinnell (Nicki), Samantha Raleigh (Christian), Micah Tinnell, Aaron Stanley, and Samuel Johnson; great-grandson, Phoenix Tinnell; sisters, Imogene Simmons and Linda Shepherd (Billy Roy); and daughter-in-love, Kimberly Turner Tinnell.

Funeral service will be conducted at 12 pm on Friday, September 1, 2023, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 4-8 pm, Thursday from 10 am-8 pm, and Friday from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
