

Mrs. Ruth Elder (Parrott) Anderson, age 87, of Shepherdsville returned to her Heavenly Father on March 27, 2022. Mrs. Anderson was born on January 6, 1935, in Branford, FL to the late Sheldon and Pearl (Owens) Parrott. She was a talented homemaker and a long-time member of Little Flock Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, neighbor, and Pink Flamingo bowler. She held a cosmetology license and previously owned Gay Top beauty salon in Valley Station. She was a talented painter. She loved fried fish, yellow tomatoes, and Jesus. Most of all Jesus. Her chicken and dumplings were the best. Ruth’s sweetness and affection will be missed by all who knew her. Among those that preceded her in death are her parents, siblings, Gene, Henry, and Thelma; son, David; and husband of 63 years, “Scottie” Sherman Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Angala Lyttle (Mike) and Cathy Anderson; sister-in-law, Imogene Mitchell (“Sis”); grandchildren, Tina and Anthony Stauble; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Harper, and Bella; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 1, 2022, in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road) with interment in Highland Memory Gardens. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 4-8 pm and Friday from 10 am until time of service at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Samaritan’s Purse.
