Shirley Elaine Long

Shirley Elaine Long, age 85, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 8, 2025. She was born on December 24, 1939, in Louisville, Kentucky to the late John and Helen (Kirchdorfer) Reed. Shirley attended Good Shepherd Church in past years and recently Glory and Fire Church. She loved church and meeting with her friends for worship. Shirley was an outgoing, friendly lady who enjoyed meeting people and spending time with friends. She loved her family and had a true passion for making friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Long; brother, Raymond Reed, and sisters, Lois Woosley and Rosalie Ortel.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Serena Erizer (Michael) and Davina Erizer (Scott); grandchildren, Kayla (Kyle), Caleb (Courtney), Keeley (Matthew) and Camden; great-grandchildren, Wonder, Haven, Shepherd and Elisha; her best friend for more than 50 years, Kitty Dewitt and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst, Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 10 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
