Sylvia "Jean" Brewer

Mrs. Sylvia “Jean” Brewer, age 87, of Coxs Creek, KY returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 1, 2025, with her family by her side. She was born in Louisville, Kentucky on December 14, 1937, to the late Otha Hadley and Sarah Jane Harvey. Sylvia was a loving wife, mother, Memaw, and friend. Her family was the center of her universe. She radiated happiness, kindness, and compassion, touching the lives of everyone around her. She had a gentle soul and a heart full of grace, she touched the lives of many through her quiet strength, deep faith, and acts of love. Sylvia was a devout Christian. Her home was a place of peace, prayer, and blooming flowers.  She found joy in her garden. Sylvia brought laughter, warmth, and authenticity to every moment. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her. Sylvia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, William Brewer; daughter, Anita Darlene Foster; grandson, Michael David Foster Jr.; and her parents. 

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, William Keith Brewer (Kim) and Gregory Brewer; grandchildren, Wes Brewer, Bradley Brewer (Cindy), and Cammie Lance (Arthur); 8 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with many other family and friends.

Funeral Service will be conducted on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 12:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). The visitation will be held on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Visitation will also be held on Monday, June 9, 2025, at 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
