Virgil "Richard" Thomas Milby

Mr. Virgil “Richard” Thomas Milby, age 76, of Louisville, KY returned to his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 4, 1948, to the late Rudolph Milby and Bernida Elmore Milby. Richard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend.  He was a free spirit, who found peace on the open road and joy under the open sky. Whether riding down backroads on his motorcycle or being outdoors he lived for the adventure and beauty of the world around him. One of his greatest joys was being a Harley Owners Group (HOG), Derby City Chapter member (# and Virgil). He was also a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels.  His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph and Bernida Milby

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Denise Milby; sons, Richard Milby and Matthew Milby; grandchild, Matthew Keeling; sisters, Liz Wakefield (Ron), Wanda Riddle (Ray), and Becky Sorrell (Don); along with many other friends. 

A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Highway at Brooks Road). The visitation will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.  www.subfuneralhome.com
