Among those who preceded him in death include, his wife, Cora Jones; parents, John Ransom and Rosa Mallie Jones; brothers, Robert, Homer, Elmer, Vernon and Barry Jones and sister, Goldie Hollers.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his sons, Johnny Ray Jones and Jeffrey Mark Jones (Deborah); grandchildren, Rhonda Lynn Jones, George Willie Thompson and Daniel Wayne Thompson (Amanda); great grandchildren, Trenton Dale Raymer, Erik Lee Thompson, Gauge Mark Thompson and Shaelyn Von-Lux Thompson and sister, Billie Jean Maiden.

Funeral service will be conducted at Noon on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Schoppenhorst, Underwood and Brooks Funeral Home (Preston Hwy. at Brooks Rd.) with interment in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Friends may pay their respects on Wednesday from 9:00 am until the time of service at Schoppenhorst.
