Joe Peppy "Peppy" Patek

Joe “Peppy” Patek Jr. of Shiner, Texas passed away on September 18, 2011 in Round Rock, Texas at the age of 75. Joe was born in Shiner, Texas on July 17, 1936 to the late Joseph and Emily (Novasad) Patek. Joe married Evelyn Caka on October 29, 1961 and they made their home in Shiner. Joe was a partner in the family business, Patek Grocery & Market for 30 years . At the age of 50, Joe left the family business to become a self-employed insurance agent. Joe sold insurance for the next 25 years. He was a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and a very proud member of the Joe Patek Orchestra. Joe and his wife were blessed with 3 sons; Joey, Terry and Lynn and one daughter, Gayle.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bob and David. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn, sons, Joey Terry and Lynn, daughter, Gayle Croft, brothers; Bill Patek Sr. and Paul Patek Sr. and sisters; Barbara Lloyd and Rosalie Vrana and 9 grandchildren. Joe also leaves behind many friends and memories that will be shared for years to come.

A Rosary was recited at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 21, also at Sts. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in Shiner. Interment will follow at the Shiner Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Parkinson Disease Association
