

Alice Louise DeMoss went home to her Lord and Savior on February 13, 2018. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home, 8801 Mansfield Road, with the Reverend Jessica Lowe presiding. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Centuries Memorial on Friday, February 16, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 p.m.
Alice was born March 6, 1922, in Shreveport, LA, to Edward Burdett Sparrow and Lena Elaine Sparrow. In 1938 she graduated from Fair Park High School and from Dodd College in 1940. From 1957 until 1989 she worked as a bookkeeper and later business manager for C-BARC (The Arc of Caddo-Bossier). Alice was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed by all of those who knew and loved her. She had a sweet, loving spirit, positive attitude and always looked for the good in everybody and everything. Her smile and laughter would light up the room. Alice loved music, dancing, laughing, having fun, being with people, enjoying life, and God’s handiwork. Her gift was bringing joy and happiness to all those around her and being an outstanding role model.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Lena Sparrow; husband, Edwin DeMoss; brother, Joseph Sparrow and his wife Donna; and granddaughter, Jennifer Manco Bond. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Jane Ann Manco and husband Rene; grandson, Paul Manco; great grandchildren, Avery Bond, Joshua Bond, Nicolas Manco, Ethan Manco, Alex Manco, and Nate Manco; son, Jeffrey Charles Young and wife Malvina; grandsons, David and James Johnson; niece, Louise Sparrow; and great nieces, Angelique Ray and Christy Stevens.
Pallbearers to honor Alice will be Lewis DeMoss, Jason Bond, Joshua Bond, Paul Manco, Nicolas Manco, Ethan Manco, Alex Manco, and Nate Manco.
A special thanks to all of the loving caregivers and sitters at the Chateaus and Montclaire; the wonderful staff at Hospice of Shreveport- Bossier; and Dr. Daniel Payne who helped her so much over the years.
