Services for Mrs. Charlene Juanita Evans Toney will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Centuries Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. James A. Van Hook, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Centuries Memorial Park. The family will receive guests on Thursday evening between the hours of 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Charlene was born on August 2, 1932, in Shreveport, LA to the late Jessie C. Eppinette and Ona Louise Evans. She entered into peaceful rest on Monday, February 13, 2012, at the age of 79 years. Mrs. Toney, along with her late husband, was owner and operator of East Ridge Grocery for 49 years. She was a special lady who showed her family strength and love every day. She has gone to be with Ernest, the love of her life, for Valentine's Day. She was dearly loved and will be dearly missed!

Charlene was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Toney; son, Jodie Toney; brother, Charles Eppinette; sisters, Mary Lola Hall and Jessie Faye Vinet; granddaughter, Shirley Matthews; and great-grandson, Marshall Matthews. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Keith E. Toney, and Ronald L. Toney and wife, Amy; daughters, Shirley Lofton, and Cheryl Krause and husband, Al; sisters, Bobbie Jean Laverty, Lorraine Harris, and Jimmie Louise Underhill; thirteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
